Home & Heart

A new take on brooches and one that delights those of us who look for new ways to immortalize our glassware and favorite tableware ceramics into new 'Still Lifes.' Enjoy Gesine Hackenberg's take on 'household' jewelry.

Gesine Hackenberg is a German jewellery designer and metalsmith who produces work which sits between fine art and design  - or, "jewellery between objects and wearable pieces"

Her work connects between wearable jewellery and objects. Recurring themes include household crockery, which is often broken, and given a new lease of life. Her kitchen jewellery includes punched out sections of pottery, which then form the beads of a necklace.
