I found this article from 2008. It's still very relevant today and increasingly so as temperatures in the world are reaching dizzying heights. source.

Melting Men

The installation, Melting Men, was meant to spotlight the World Wildlife Fund's warning that melting ice could possibly cause levels of bodies of water to rise to more than 3.3 ft by 2100.

Ice figures are pictured on the steps of the concert hall at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin. The World Wildlife Fund is hoping to raise awareness about global warming through the event, as the 1,000 figures will all melt throughout the day.

Aren't these amazing? I believe that Jen Stark paper sculptor and artist, is probably one very patient woman. Her eye for detail is incredible, deconstructing object and breaking it down into layers upon layers of shapes finally into an intricate form. Truly a feast for the eyes.

Sadly, I have to work hard at my 'green thumb' but these images (and the cute little kitty in the teacup) amused me so and encouraged me to bring the garden into my new home. By Designer Gitta Gschwendtner.
