Just a note: Been feeling a little blue and under the weather. But, after some editing of images. I have a trend watch feature for you. Enjoy:)
CASUAL COOL CHIC:
I've always loved Michelle Williams' style and now more than ever, she seems to have come into her own, fashion-wise. As I've noticed about her time and time again, her style is consistently low-key, effortless with a touch of classic, and preferring the vintage look and feel of clothes.
She likes clothes that construct narratives, as she likes to put it. When she is not on a movie set or at a premiere, she is decidedly between casual and chic cool. She layers and mixes colors. No rules apply and she follows her own whims. Her lines are long, lean and it fits into her role as a mother. You can see her sporting a pair of faded cut-offs with a checked shirt or a snow flake sweater or pairing a black peacoat with light brown boots. She does not prefer a particular designer when on the red carpet, opting instead for comfortable, simple, clean colors and design.
Sally Singer from Vogue 10/09:
'..She wears dresses and clogs from No. 6, owns one pair of high heels (Louboutins), buys her button-downs at Brooks Brothers, and really doesn't follow what designers are up to. "I've learned that I look better with less," she says. "Jewelry doesn't suit me." It all works: As Ryan Gosling puts it, "She makes a real impact. Clint Eastwood meets Brigitte Bardot."'
The images below are Michelle Williams' choices for her red carpet functions and my hand-picked alternates. Enjoy!
