My Green Summer Wish List

Summer, more so than Spring, awakens in me the need to remodel and redecorate. It's when the bright sunlight streaming through my windows allows me to breath in the fresh warm Chicago air and shake off that frigid cold the Midwest is so well known for. It is this time of year that I quietly start window shopping and day dreaming of the spaces and fabrics and wares where I can add a few warm and homey touches here and there.

I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars.  ~Walt Whitman
A sensitive plant in a garden grew,

And the young winds fed it with silver dew,
And it opened its fan-like leaves to the light,
and closed them beneath the kisses of night.

~Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant," 1820
